DigitalPI™ ("Digital Private Eye™," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. We understand that criminal case materials can be highly sensitive, and we are committed to handling your information responsibly.
Information We Collect

- Interview responses
- Police reports
- Discovery
- Court records
- Photos
- Documents
- Other case-related materials
Please upload only information you have the legal right to possess and submit.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create your account
- Process uploaded documents
- Generate investigative reports
- Build timelines
- Compare records
- Identify investigative leads
- Improve the DigitalPI™ service
AI Processing
To provide investigative analysis, DigitalPI™ sends your information — including interview answers and text extracted from uploaded documents — to third-party artificial intelligence providers (currently Anthropic for analysis and OpenAI for optional voice transcription), accessed through our infrastructure provider.
DigitalPI does not train its own models using your case materials. We have not verified the training-use and retention terms that apply to processing through Emergent's AI integrations. Please do not submit material you are not authorized to share with third-party processors.
Data Storage & Third Parties
Your account data, interview answers, extracted document text, and case records are stored in our database. Original uploaded files are held by our cloud object-storage provider. Payments are processed by Stripe. We have not independently verified the geographic region, encryption-at-rest configuration, or backup retention of these providers, and do not represent a specific storage location or retention period.
Data Deletion
You can delete individual documents, an entire case, or your whole account at any time from within the app.
Deleting removes the item from your account and permanently removes the associated records and extracted text from the application. We have recorded your deletion request internally, but cannot currently erase the original uploaded file or provide a completion date. We also cannot control retention by third-party AI or payment providers under their own terms.
