We recognize that criminal case materials may contain highly sensitive information.

DigitalPI™ runs on commercial cloud infrastructure and uses third-party AI services to provide its analysis. Interview answers and text extracted from your documents are sent to these AI providers (currently Anthropic and, for optional voice transcription, OpenAI). Connections to the application use HTTPS. We have not independently verified these providers' hosting regions, encryption-at-rest, or retention practices.

Within the application, your cases and documents are tied to your account and are not accessible to other users. Account passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Our infrastructure, storage, AI, and payment providers can technically access data they process under their own controls.

DigitalPI does not train its own models using your case materials. We have not verified the training-use and retention terms that apply to processing through Emergent's AI integrations.

You can delete documents, cases, and your entire account from within the app. Deleting removes the item from your account and permanently removes the associated records and extracted text from the application. We have recorded your deletion request internally, but cannot currently erase the original uploaded file or provide a completion date. We do not promise immediate or complete erasure where provider retention is outside our control.

Users should upload only materials they have the legal authority to possess and share.

We continually evaluate our security practices and will update this page as additional protections are implemented.
